The City of Pittsburgh has provided a permit for the annual Soulful Taste of The Burgh "2026 Pittsburgh Soul Food Festival" to close a portion of Stanwix in Downtown Pittsburgh beginning Friday evening, September 4, 2026. This detour will be in conjunction with detour #26-435-0.
Stanwix Street will be closed from Blvd of the Allies to Liberty Avenue beginning Friday morning, September 4, 2026, from approximately 9:00 AM continuing through the end of weekend event or through end of service Sunday, September 6, 2026. This detour along with detour #26-435-0 will run concurrently for the remainder of the weekend.
Buses will be able to make the right onto Stanwix Street from Liberty Avenue and also the left onto Liberty Avenue from Stanwix Street.
Start: 09/04/2026 — End: 09/07/2026
PennDOT District 11-0 and the City of Pittsburgh will initiate post-event traffic pattern changes on the West End Bridge which will generate three lanes of southbound traffic, no northbound travel across the bridge, and some delays on the westbound ramp from West Carson Street to West End Circle and continued travel outbound during the break at the conclusion of concert and football events at Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park for the remaining Fall 2026 concert calendar and 2026 professional and collegiate football seasons.
The ramp from West Carson Street will remain open to West End Circle for buses and trucks only. Priority to southbound traffic off the West End Bridge will be given by Pittsburgh Police, and therefore outbound units may have to take a standing delay, but can maintain regular route.
Scheduled activation of this traffic pattern change is roughly about 9:00 PM each night during concerts and roughly two and a half (2 1/2) hours after each kickoff until two (2) hours after the end of each exhibition game.
Start: 08/13/2026 — End: 12/28/2026
