High Platform Station Improvement Project

Pittsburgh Regional Transit rehabilitated 18 high platform light rail stations between February 2022 and December 2024.

The $10.8 million project included repairing the concrete platforms, replacing handrails and tactile pads, refurbishing overhead canopies, and painting various areas of the stations. 

Station Construction

The first phase of the project began in February 2022, and included Fallowfield, Potomac, and Mt. Lebanon Stations.

The second phase began in August 2022, and included Willow/Overbrook Junction, Washington Junction, South Bank, Denise, South Hills Village. Phase Two ended in April 2023.

The final phase of the work included Lytle, McNeilly, Killarney, Memorial Hall, First Avenue, Library, Boggs and Bon Air. That work ended in December 2024.
