Any applicant who we are interested in considering for a maintenance position will be sent an application for employment. Please return the application by the provided deadline.

Applications are reviewed and information verified for work experience, education and driving history.

Any falsification on an application will disqualify you for a maintenance position, as well as any future employment opportunities with us.

Whether or not you need to go through testing depends on the specific job. For example, if you applied to be an Automotive Repairperson, you will need to take a tools test. If you applied to be a Signal or Substation Maintainer, you would need to take a Maintenance Apprenticeship Program (MAP) test.

The employment representative will let you know what type of testing may be required.

Successful applicants will be contacted by phone and scheduled to complete a competency-based interview. You will be contacted based on hiring needs and the order we received your completed application.

When you report for the interview, you will need to bring proof of education level.

Also, please let us know if your address or phone number has changed and needs to be updated.

The interviewing process takes approximately one hour.

Interviewees selected for a maintenance position will have their name placed in a candidate pool for training class and will be contacted when a training class is scheduled (based on staffing needs).

The job offer for a maintenance employee training class is contingent upon a satisfactory background check, pre-employment physical and drug screening, and receiving a commercial driver's license (CDL) permit.

The final phase of the process involves skill-specific training. The 10-week program includes CDL training and testing, as well as classroom instruction for related knowledge and skills required for success on the job. Trainees are also given training on specific functions of repairing the hybrid buses and electric buses.

You will be provided with your full training schedule on the first day of training. Training classes typically meet for eight hours a day.

Those who successfully complete the 10-week training program begin employment as a probationary employee for the first 90 working days of employment.

Employees are scheduled to work 40 hours per week. Schedules can include day, afternoon and evening shifts. They can include weekends, holidays, and overtime is optional.

We employ more than 800 maintenance personnel in 10 locations: Collier, Ross, East Liberty, West Mifflin, South Hills Village, South Hills Junction, Manchester, Incline, Downtown and Harmar.
