July 2026 Ridership

PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Regional Transit saw both weekday and weekend gains throughout the system in July 2026, as ridership continued to trend upward.

PRT provided 3,228,449 unlinked passenger trips in July 2026. System ridership across bus and rail increased 6.4% on weekdays, 4.2% on Saturdays, and 8.3% on Sundays compared to July 2025. Ridership data for the Monongahela Incline was not available at the time of publication. The incline typically accounts for less than 1% of total system ridership.

Weekdays

Average weekday ridership for July 2026 was 118,635 unlinked passenger trips across bus and rail. Weekday bus ridership was 106,926, about an 8% increase from July 2025. Weekday rail ridership was 11,517 which is nearly the same as July 2025.

Saturdays

Average Saturday ridership was 73,746 unlinked passenger trips across all modes. Saturday bus ridership was 64,385, a roughly 7% increase compared to July 2025. Rail ridership was 9,251, about a 9% increase compared to July 2025.

Sundays

Average Sunday ridership for July 2026 was 55,719 unlinked passenger trips across all modes. Bus ridership was 48,954, about an 8% increase compared to July 2025. Rail ridership was 6,661, a 28% increase compared to July 2025.
