Service Changes Begin October 18

PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Regional Transit will implement its next round of regularly scheduled service adjustments on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The changes include schedule updates, frequency adjustments, and routing modifications designed to improve reliability, respond to current ridership patterns, and better serve riders.

The updates will affect select bus routes throughout the PRT service area. Highlights include:

- Improved service reliability: Weekday and weekend schedules on numerous routes will be adjusted to improve on-time performance.

- Frequency adjustments: Several routes will receive more frequent service during peak travel periods, while other routes will have service intervals adjusted to better align with ridership.

- Expanded service: Additional trips will be added to select routes, including the G2-West Busway and P12-Holiday Park Flyer, to increase the span of service and help alleviate overcrowding.

- Routing changes: Several routes will be modified to reflect new stop locations in The Waterfront in Homestead. Additional routing changes will address ongoing construction and street closures in downtown Pittsburgh, including the City of Pittsburgh’s Reimagine Smithfield project.

- Service extensions and schedule updates: Select Flyer routes will receive schedule adjustments to accommodate service extensions to Penn Station.

Riders are encouraged to review the updated schedules before traveling, as departure times and service frequencies may change on their routes.

The schedule adjustments are part of PRT’s regular service planning process, which occurs three times each year. Riders should check the updated schedule for their route before October 18 to plan trips accordingly.
