Ready2Ride User Guide

With the Ready2Ride mobile app, you can select from a number of pass and ticket options for all PRT buses, light rail vehicles, and the Monongahela and Duquesne Inclines.

From the main menu, you can access other PRT resources, including: TrueTime (real-time bus and light rail vehicle tracking), trip planning tools, fare information, schedule and detour information, customer service, and more.

To begin, download the Ready2Ride app from the Apple Store or the Google Play store.

         

Tap & Ride

Load stored value to your account and use it to purchase passes and tickets or pay as you go. Add money to your Ready2Ride account and scan the barcode on your mobile devices to the validator when you board your vehicle. The validator will deduct your fare from your account and you will receive unlimited transfers for the next three hours.

Buy Tickets

Choose from a number of pass and ticket options to meet your needs.

Ticket Wallet

View your list of pending passes and tickets available for use, as well as a detailed history of your prior purchases.

Track Your Vehicle

Manage your time more efficiently by tracking your bus or light rail vehicles exact location in real time and receive an estimated arrival time for your stop.

Other Trip Tools

Use these tools to help plan your next trip, locate a route schedule, review detours than may affect your trip, and more.

You can easily check your account balance and add funds. Use the convenient preset amounts or enter a specific amount you want to add to your account. Select your payment method, accept, and you’re ready to go.

Click the “Account Balance” button located on the main menu.

Select the “Add Funds” button.

Choose a preset amount or select the “Custom” button to type in an amount. Then, select the “Continue” button.

Select your payment method.

Enter the security code and the “Accept & Pay” button to complete your transaction. You will receive a message your Stored Value purchase.

Your mobile ticket or pass must be activated and ready to scan before boarding the vehicle or entering the station platform.

Do not activate your ticket too early. A 3-hour pass expires three hours after the time it is first activated, not when it is first scanned. Passes will remain active during the entire validation period.

Click the “Ticket Wallet” button on the main menu.

Select the ticket(s)/Pass(es) you’d like to use.

Click “Accept & Continue” on the next screen.

Select the “Pay with Account Balance” button to use previously purchased stored value. Enter a new card information and select “Accept and Pay” button or select a saved card and press the “Continue” button (bottom right).

Enter your credit card security code and press the “Accept & Pay” button to complete your transaction. You’ll receive a message confirming your transaction was successful.

For most riders, the option to purchase a pass or ticket from your mobile device is very convenient. In just a few steps, we’ll show you how easy it is to make a purchase.

Click the “Buy Tickets” button from the main menu.

Select from the ticket type options available on your account. Then, choose to purchase a single ticket or multiple tickets.

Once you see the screen confirming the pass you’ve selected, tap the “Accept and Continue” button at the bottom of the screen.

Review the ticket information screen and tap the “Activate Ticket” button.

You will then receive a bar code to scan on the validator.

Scan the bar code at the validator on your vehicle.
