PRTner PASS

The PRTner Pass™ program is designed to encourage public transit ridership by allowing employers, multifamily property owners, and schools to purchase monthly transit passes for their employees, tenants, and students at a deeply discounted rate.
The PRTner PASS™ is a program designed to encourage ridership by allowing employers, landlords, and schools to purchase monthly passes for their employees, residents/tenants, and students at a deeply discounted rate.
Multifamily property owners and managers, secondary and post-secondary schools, and employers must purchase monthly transit passes for 100% of eligible participants (units) regardless of how many actually use public transit.
Buying transit passes for 100% of eligible units or participants will allow you to receive the deeply discounted rate of $28 per monthly pass, or nearly a 70% discount.
Multifamily property owners and managers
At least 10 eligible units in one physical location.
One pass must be purchased for each unit regardless of occupancy, with the option to purchase additional passes.
There are no exclusions based on age for the residential program; it is solely based on number of units.
Schools
Secondary and post-secondary schools that are not eligible to participate in the U-Pass program.
Only students ages 12 and up are considered eligible for the program.
The program would be considered active during the traditional 10-month school year, with an option to extend year-round.
Employers
Must have at least 10 benefits-eligible employees.
Employers may opt (but are not required) to purchase passes for employees who work 100% remotely or employees who work less than full-time and do not qualify for employer-provided benefits.
Employees over the age of 65 are excluded from the program as they already receive free service on PRT transit.
Participating entities will log into an online portal each month and push out the monthly PRTner Pass™ to their eligible passholders. For now, passes are only available to use on smart devices via the Ready2Ride app.
If you have an employee who works at your participating location but does not live within Allegheny County, they will still count toward your 100% and be considered eligible for the program. However, employer sites that are located more than a half-mile from PRT service would not qualify.
No. Employers and multifamily property owners can choose which locations participate.
The per pass price is for the duration of the annual contract (subject to any base fare cost changes). Should the price change, new or renewed contracts will be subject to the new price.
Every mode of transit PRT offers: Bus, light rail, and the inclines.
